July 21 (Day 7) Sudbury to Oshawa

Up and out by 8:30am under dark cloudy skies and evidence of earlier rain. It was also very muggy.  It seems to be that the east has a much more humid heat than we do.

On our way to Oshawa for a week of meetings.  We started out on  the main highway between Sudbury and Toronto.  The traffic was fairly heavy but not too much to handle.  When we reached Orilla,  we turned onto a much smaller highway, almost a rural one.   Along the way, we stopped at a small convenience store for ice cream and watched the world go by.

We arrived at Oshawa shortly before two and after getting lost a time or two, managed to get registered and to find our room.  We are located in Simcoe Village, which is the residence furthest away from where all the sessions and meals are held.  Go figure!  Oh well, the forced movement will be good for me, although I suspect I won't be running back to my room for a quick minute much, lol.

We attended our first session this afternoon, which was kind of fun.  We learned about what we will be doing for the rest of the week, and got to test out our digital voting devices.

Then supper.  One little glitch - they don't have Bob registered for the meal plan.  While they are sorting it out, one of the local arrangements group gave him her black lanyard (only those on meal plans have black lanyards).  He says he is not giving it back.   Fortunately, I do have the receipt and registration form on my phone, so there should not be an issue.

We are back in our rooms just chilling.  I am going over the material for tomorrow and Bob is browsing facebook.  I think I will soon join him and relax a bit before tomorrow as the day starts early.

We will not likely be blogging much for the next week, as I will be in meetings, and Bob will be out getting to know the area.  See you all in a week (or earlier, if we feel so inclined!)
